Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

These Turtle Awareness Programmes—more affectionately known as Turtle Camps—create and spread turtle conservation awareness among teachers and students. Through these Turtle Camps, teachers and students acquire new knowledge of turtles and the environment beyond what is taught in the school, thus enabling them to make educated decisions about how their everyday actions (e.g., consuming turtle eggs) could contribute to the extinction of a turtle species.

Besides spreading turtle conservation awareness among students and teachers, these Turtle Camps also promote the change of attitudes, and provide them with an opportunity to be actively involved in turtle conservation, through activities such as writing a letter to the Editor, and highlighting certain issues in the media.

We do not just organise and conduct Turtle Camps. Sometimes we get invited to give talks in schools, and sometimes we work with schools and teachers to organise bigger educational and awareness events. We have also worked with the homeschooling community in Malaysia.

If you’d like to sponsor a Turtle Camp, or invite us to your school, or co-organise an event in your school, please get in touch with us. Together, there isn’t anything we can’t achieve!

The River Terrapin Conservation Centre is closed to the public, and all TCS education and outreach programmes are suspended until further notice.
